On Tuesday July 9, River Bend Cemetery will be hosting a Babcock-Smith House Tour featuring some of the stories of the earliest Westerly families, including the Chapmans, Blivens, Stillmans, Burdicks, and others. Some were whaling captains, carpenters, inventors, doctors, and even a Civil War veteran. Tour would be rescheduled to Thursday July 11th in the case of inclement weather. If, for some reason, you cannot make it this time around, the tour will be repeated on Thursday August 8, with a rain date of Tuesday August 13. Everyone will meet at the cemetery office at 6 p.m. The tour will be free for members of the Babcock-Smith House Museum, $5.00 for non-members. We hope to see you there!
