No, there is no residency requirement. River Bend Cemetery serves the needs of all of Rhode Island and beyond, as well as all faiths. Everyone is welcome!

When you purchase a lot at River Bend, 40% of the total cost of that lot is designated for the perpetual care of that lot. This is a one-time only fee; you will never be charged an annual maintenance fee.

Yes, all burials at River Bend Cemetery, including cremation burials, are required to be placed inside a vault or grave liner.

River Bend Cemetery Company is a private, 501(c)13 non-profit corporation established by the laws of the state of Rhode Island and governed by a Board of elected Trustees. Many people think River Bend Cemetery is owned by the town; however, this is not the case.

We do offer interest-free payment plans over 12 or 24 months. This would require a down payment of at least 1/3 of the total purchase price. However, the lot must be paid in full before any interment may take place or any monument/markers may be installed.
